Use the tempo slider or tap the +/- buttons to adjust the beats per minute. You can also tap the tempo button repeatedly to set the tempo by tapping.
Tap on the time signature display to open the picker and select your desired time signature.
Subdivisions let you hear additional clicks between the main beats. This is useful for practicing with eighth notes, triplets, or sixteenth notes.
Check your device's volume settings and ensure the app isn't muted. Also verify that your system audio output is working correctly.

Make sure you're running the latest version of macOS that's compatible with Metronome. Try reinstalling the app from the Mac App Store.
